Y Leadership- – Developing Today’s Generation of Leaders

Y Leadership is a foundational leadership development program created to assist the next generation of leaders in dealing effectively with the many challenges and opportunities of the 21st century.  

This 2.5-day intensive leadership experience has been created by local partners who know youth and who know leadership.  The YWCA, Reframe Leadership, Pacific Center for Leadership and Corporate Funk, have all come together to create an impressive development experience that intersects leadership and experience-based learning in beautiful Banff National Park. At its core the program has been designed to give participants the unique opportunity to create impactful, life changing insights on leadership and how emerging leaders can make a difference now in their communities, organizations and social networks. 

During the program participants will:

·      Be challenged- both mentally and physically- through outdoor learning and online challenges

·      Discover new ways to develop skills, knowledge and enthusiasm (on and off-line) to build engagement and collaboration among colleagues

·      Explore “why” leadership matters to you, your organizations and social networks

Key outcomes of this program include:

·     A better understanding of personal leadership style and strengths

·     Experience working in a high performance team setting

·     Hands-on experience giving and receiving feedback for improved performance

·     Establishment of a community of peers and learning network for continued and sustained learning

·     Navigate the shifting role of leadership in virtual and real (non-virtual) environments.

This program is for you if you are:

·      18 – 30 years of age and want to further explore your leadership potential through a variety of interactive, intentionally designed learning experiences

·      A young professional that is hungry for an extraordinary developmental opportunity

·      An emerging leader with a desire to share and learn within a group of peers

Program Fees: $250 (All meals included)

The Y Leadership pilot program will run August 5th – 7th at the YWCA Training Centre in Banff with a cohort of 20 young leaders from the Bow Valley. 

Program starts at 6pm Friday, 5 August at the YWCA, 102 Spray Ave, Banff Alberta

Dress is casual throughout.  Please bring suitable clothing for outdoor activities including sun glasses and sun screen.

Program finishes at 3pm Sunday, 7 August.
